Wireless Networks » Licensed Microwave

The NetLogix Team has been involved in some of the largest licensed microwave backbone implementations presently in operation. These networks form the backbone of widely used networks – in fact, you have undoubtedly communicated over a backbone network that we helped deploy.

Our services include consultation, design, site acquisition and development, tower construction, network deployment, and ongoing managed services.

Network Design

NetLogix works with its clients on the following network design services:

  • Consulting on System Requirements
  • Technology Identification & Equipment Selection
  • Network Design
  • Propagation Mapping
  • Licensing

The final output we provide to our clients will include a variety of topographical studies that clearly illustrate Line-of-Sight and link reliability.

Site Acquisition

NetLogix provides multiple layers of Site Acquisition services.  Those services include:

  • Site Acquisition – Site Identification, Lease Negotiation, and Lease Execution
  • Zoning & Planning – Approval Process Coordination, Filing & Appearance, Ordinance Writing, Permitting, and Government Interaction
  • Architecture & Engineering – Site Walks, Permitting & Construction Documents, CAD Drawings
  • Construction Management – Telco & Power Management, Bid & Proposal Management, and On-site Construction Management
  • Construction Services – In-house & Outsource Construction Teams, Best Process Implementation
  • Project Management – Online Project Tracking (so our clients can view in real-time)

Deployment

NetLogix has close working relationships with leading vendors of licensed and unlicensed wireless broadband technologies.  Whether you are looking for wireless fast Ethernet, wireless DS3/E3, wireless ATM, or Fiber-over-the-Air solutions, NetLogix can provide the custom solution to fit your connectivity needs.

Pre-Deployment Services

Wireless broadband is proving to be a highly reliable, highly predictable alternative to dark fiber and leased lines. However, this assumes the links are properly architected and evaluated in advance of deployment. NetLogix begins the design process with a site survey where visual Line-of-Sight is verified, cable runs are identified, and mounting locations and requirements are verified. Once the Site Survey details have been confirmed, technology recommendations are then provided (depending upon client requirements.)

Feasibility Analysis

NetLogix always recommends that a thorough feasibility analysis is performed in advance of deployment. While some non-wireless industry professionals fail to acknowledge the value of a feasibility analysis, it really is critical to defining the appropriate technology and likelihood of deployment success. NetLogix Feasibility Analysis services include:

  • Line-of-Sight Analysis – includes topographical mapping (including US Geological Survey), aerial photographs, identification of obstructions, and required antenna heights
  • Site-by-Site Analysis – includes LAN, Voice and/or Video facilities in place
  • Equipment Installation Details – location specific details regarding mount design, installation location, cable runs, etc.
  • Indoor Equipment Installation Specifics
  • Security Recommendations
  • Path Calculations
  • Spectrum Analysis (if applicable)
  • Tower Design Requirements (if applicable)

Frequency Coordination

NetLogix can provide all the requisite licensing requirements for licensed microwave (as well as 3.65 and 4.9 GHz) links.  Obtaining a license is a simple 3-step process:

  • A frequency analysis of all radio paths is conducted.
  • This will list the locations and frequencies of all similar microwave radio installations within a given region, and shows the existence of unusable frequencies for any proposed paths.
  • Once frequencies have been identified, specific link paths are selected and prior coordination notifications are sent to all current license holders. Current license holders have 30 days to object to the proposed new links. Upon expiration of 30 days, applications and fees are then sent to the FCC for license fulfillment.

Multi-vendor Certifications

NetLogix is certified with most leading wireless broadband technology vendors. We can provide high capacity broadband links across several bands – depending upon client requirements. Please contact us for more information on vendors we work with.
