At the core of the NetLogix viGDS is a smart, sensor-based technology developed by Safety Dynamics, the leading manufacturer of acoustical recognition products and the SENTRI line of gunshot detection systems. Safety Dynamics uses a number of proprietary algorithms in their patented technology, including the "Dynamic Synapse Neural Network" (DSNN) model. DSNN was created at the Laboratory for Neural Dynamics at the University of Southern California (USC), and is the intelligence driving SENTRI products and their state-of-the-art acoustic recognition capabilities. Based on neurobiological principles of signal processing, DSNN provides accurate temporal pattern analysis of acoustic signals - even in the presence of high background noise.
Market competitors utilize an overly constrictive technology that is based upon a "noise floor", meaning that any arbitrary sound louder than a pre-determined level sets off the detection. There are several dramatic limitations with this type of system, the most important of which is the inability to mount detection units at street level - where incidents-of-interest take place. Because the noise floor sensors need to be far away to reduce background noise, coupled with the fact that they are unable to distinguish between a firecracker and an assault rifle, these systems are rendered virtually ineffective.

Through our partnership with Safety Dynamics, we provide public safety agencies the ability to remotely view the gunshot event location. While no alternative solution can integrate with point-tilt-zoom (PTZ) cameras, it takes less than one second for the NetLogix viGDS to identify a gunshot event, pinpoint its location, and have the video camera targeting the shooter.

The NetLogix viGDS is truly unmatched in its performance. Each detection unit contains an array of four microphones - compared to the competitor's one. Along with the advanced software platform, this array enables the NetLogix viGDS to be a completely self-contained system, cutting the number of necessary units by 2/3. Each node acts as a stand-alone unit, and while they can function in tandem, a mesh of sensors is not required to triangulate events like the market alternatives.
