IP & Network Audits

Critical Facilities » Compliance & Capacity Auditing » IP & Network Audits

IP systems are highly complex – particularly across disparate networks and merged telecommunications entities. NetLogix offers a multitude of Data System Audits for different types of systems and facilities, whether data centers, switch sites, or backup data systems.

Key Objectives

  • Identify LAN/WAN equipment/hardware/firmware/software types
  • Identify and reconcile all physical and virtual assignments and terminations that are pertinent to current IP architecture
  • Populate all data collection into a database
  • Establish IP configurations, circuits and bandwidth information of existing network infrastructure
  • Provide IP hierarchal configuration schematics and network diagrams illustrating current connectivity and infrastructure layout
  • Indicate the type of IP protocols being utilized, where those protocols are being deployed and what type of security measures are being utilized with the network as it relates to IP addressing

Logical Configuration Approach

  • Analysis of existing design and configuration data
  • Development of a method of verification and audit
  • Proposal for the use of applications or tools to accelerate/automate the audit
  • Scaled physical inventory of in-service network elements that have assigned IP addresses that are used in the provision of IP based network OAM services in support of CW network operations.
  • Capture and document the logical network architecture, topology, schemes, and OAM support capabilities currently employed for the provision of IP based network OAM services in support of CW network operations.
  • Plan to keep the data "fresh" while the audit is in progress.

Physical Audit Approach

  • Verification and updates of each element against existing inventory data
  • Verification and update specified data elements and attributes for each element
